Just when I mentioned that we have nothing special going on, things start to rustle again. As it turns out, the university has arranged a trip for us next week to Minya, and we have signed up for another university-arranged trip to Fayoum over Thanksgiving weekend. As far as I understand, our presence is also expected at a trip to Libya during the December Eid, but I have not seen the final plans for this as yet. I’m glad we get these amazing opportunities to travel and visit places I would most likely neither have the money nor the energy to ever organize. Working for the university, we may not be well off economically, but the fact that we have a lot of time together as a family, and that we are able to visit Egypt and parts of the Middle East with one of the most outstanding historians in the world, is – well; priceless.
We have not made any plans for our big, long Christmas break. Courtney may have to travel, but the boys, myself and my - by then - probably gianormous belly will stay put. We will make little outings here in Cairo and enjoy the quietness that this particular time of the year tends to bestow upon Maadi. We will also get ready for our new arrival, which will present an interesting interlude in the first part of spring semester -09. After this though, we have grand plans for Easter week; the Sinai and the Red Sea await us, and our 3rd baby will be the first Fugate ever to sleep in a monastery at such a young age.
Alexandria is also on our list of things to see this year, as are a couple of other places, but for now I’m quite satisfied when it comes to concrete plans; first off, Minya.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
