Meeting new friends in the strangest ways
Today we met with our new friends from Canada. They have two children, four and seven years old; they are newcomers this year and a homeschooling family. The first time we met was actually at Frankfurt airport last week, during our layover from Boston to Cairo. I was sitting by the gate with the boys (it was around 6:30 am and the professor was off tasting whiskeys in the tax free shop) who were going to sleep, when a woman looked at the boys, then at me, and then asked if I’m Jennifer Fugate. “Well, yes, I am” I said with a very surprized voice, half unconscious after about 15 hours of travelling (I most likely looked my very worst!), and she told me that she and her family were just on their way to Egypt (where they in fact were moving), and that she has been reading my blog. She recognized the boys from the pictures. I was instantly freaked out by the idea that a complete stranger recognized and knew all these things about me; I felt very exposed and thought I should have kept our identities anonymous in my blog. As it turned out though, it was a very nice family, and today we had a lovely day at the Maadi House together.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

I completely understand the moment of freakiness. I've actually met a few local bloggers since moving to Cairo and its weird how much we all know about each other despite the fact that we are all complete strangers. LOL
