Saturday morning soccer, followed by babysitting, taekwondo and consequently swollen hands & feet

We just spent our Saturday morning like all other Saturday mornings this fall in Egypt; on the soccer field. William had a game at nine, and August one at ten. I don’t really have to do much, I guess; just bring them there, watch, cheer, make sure they drink water, chat with other parents, and then bring them back home. For some reason though, this whole process is quite exhausting, and I come home with swollen hands & feet and tired. Sometimes this is fine, because we don’t have that many other obligations on Saturdays, but today I have a lot of work that needs to be finished by tomorrow, so I need to somehow get back in gear. I can’t really nap during the day – I’ve always been bad at it – and I’m trying to limit my caffeine intake, but something is certainly needed. We were also asked to watch a friend of the boys this afternoon; I’m hoping they’ll be able to play nicely in their room. I probably should have turned that down, but I always have trouble saying ‘no’ to these kinds of things. And the boys always like to play of course.

I’m ranting; tired, procrastinating blabber.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
