As a preventive feature, I’m herewith presenting the answers to some of the questions that we have received when revealing that we’re expecting a baby:
When is the baby due?
We’re actually due mid-February, but seeing that this will be our third c-section, the baby will have to be delivered before the due date; ballpark 1-5 February 2009. I’m currently in the second trimester.
How do you feel?
I feel great! The few weeks that I was a bit tired, I spent in my mother’s loving embrace in Sweden, reading books while she cared for everyone and everything. It was a true blessing. By the time we got to the US, my tiredness was gone and conveniently enough my body changed so that I could get affordable maternity wear. We were also able to stock up on some herbs and vitamins, as to improve the chances of good prenatal and postpartum care.
How have the boys reacted?
The boys have been asking for a baby for years, so they’re absolutely thrilled. William was actually upset that we had not told him earlier, even though he and August were the first ones to find out, and much earlier than sound since we were leaving for our trip and we wanted them to know first. “You should have told me when daddy put the seed in!” he frowned angrily when I tried to explain that we didn’t quite know for sure until just before he found out.
Are you going to have the baby in Egypt?
We are confident that we will be able to find a good OBGYN surgeon here in Cairo, and seeing that the timing is off (it will be right at the start of the second semester of the Academic year) and that it would cost a significant amount of money for all of us to go, it's not very plausible we could have the baby abroad.
How do you feel about that?
It’s an adventure! We’re certain there’s a very able doctor here somewhere, we just have to find him/her. If you have any ideas, let us know!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Shukran Anneloes! Sounds good - thank you for letting me know.
Congratulations!! :)) Are you going to find out the sex in advance? Are you hoping one way or the other?
Congrats! :)
A lot of people have asked us if we know whether we are having a girl or a boy. We don’t know, and we haven’t got any desire to find out in advance either. We realize it’s very popular to find out, however we haven’t in the past, and since we don’t have any preference, it doesn’t really matter. People suggest that maybe we might like a girl now that we already have two boys, but we would be just as excited to have another boy. We certainly have more clothes for a boy than a girl. Either way, we’ll be happy.
