Enjoying the summer in Egypt

A lot of flowers, trees and bushes, and most notably the Jasmine are in bloom these days. Add the after-dinner hot sun set with a cool breeze, and any evening walk is an orgy of scents and pleasure; it’s wonderful.

During the day it’s around 38˚C (about 100˚F), practically always sunny with a blue sky, and I’m enjoying every moment of this eternal summer. Almost every day, even on very busy days, we’re usually able to go the pool for an hour or two to cool off and get some exercise. I lay down in the sun after a good swim to watch the boys play in the water, and it’s a moment of peace that brings back memories from my childhood summers on the beach in Spain; vacation and absolute bliss! Millions of Swedes every year seek out just this; they escape the rain, the snow, the cold and the dark for sun, heat, and warm water, and I -- every day here in Egypt, I get to go on my own mini holiday. It’s all worth it.

I guess it only takes Google to find a long lost cousin. Hi, Jennifer. My name is Joey and I am one of Courtney's cousins from the US. Looks like you all are doing well! I'm glad to have stumbled onto your blog!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
