Electricity outage in Maadi

Over the past week we’ve lost our electricity several times, usually around sunset/dinner time, and everything turns quiet and dark for an hour or so. Luckily we have a gas stove so cooking is still possible, and with candles and flash lights we can get around the house.

The first time the electricity went out we all sat around in our dark living room for a while, unable to read, play, listen to music or use the computer, and as all was quiet and still, August gave out a bored sigh and asked if he could watch some TV. “Sure! You can watch all you want until the electricity comes back on!” Courtney answered, and watched August as he ran up happy to the TV and started trying to turn it on, only to realize in the middle of his excitement that he was being duped.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
