San Francisco trip harvest
Courtney could have come back from San Francisco with nothing but stories or just one thing, and we would have been happy, and although he didn’t manage to buy a whole lot of things, the few American products he managed to collect and return with are true treasures. The boys got a couple of t-shirts, an Optimus Prime Mr. Potato head and two dolls each; Johnny and Ben from the Fantastic Four. I got a bottle of great wine, bought during a Paris Charles De Gaulle lay-over, but the greatest treasure of all was a new laptop, this beautiful HP Pavillion dv9000 that can actually be brought places, without having to be accompanied by a mouse, a Belgian keyboard set to American standard or a whole bunch of extension cords. For years we’ve been using a tiny Acer with a broken keyboard and a battery that doesn’t last more than a few minutes, and since a computer is something we both use for several hours every day, it has caused a lot of frustration. Here I am, finally, sitting in the CSA garden while August is having his Taekwondo class upstairs, connected to CSA’s fantastically fast wifi internet connection, sipping a soda while enjoying a comfortable keyboard and the beauty of a widescreen.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
