William is 7!

Last year I posted this brief birth story about William’s birth seven years ago. I can’t believe how quickly this boy has grown. He really isn’t little anymore; for starters, he weighs 22 more pounds than August (!) and there’s nothing he can’t do by himself, including tie his shoes, make noodles, and read a book. I’m so proud of him. He’s such a sweet son, and the best big brother any little boys could ask for. “WoaWah!!” Abraham yells, and William comes running, lighting up Abraham’s face and life more than any other person can. He’s also the perfect little brother, always providing the courage a first-born never seems to quite have, and he's full of entertaining stories, curious ideas, and exciting games. He really makes all of us laugh on a daily basis, and can be so clever, he doesn’t even realize it himself. The other day Courtney was walking home from baseball practice with the boys when William asked, out of the blue as usual, “Can you end a sentence with the word ‘the’?” to which Courtney answered “Well, no… Wait a minute. Why, yes, you can. You just did!” Ha!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
