Karl-Abraham at work

Abraham has discovered the wonderful world of pen and paper, or marker/crayon and paper, and can sit for quite some time scribbling on a couple of sheets, switching back and forth between papers, adding a dot or a scribble here, a sequence of lines there.

The funny thing about babies is that it seems so intentional, so directed, you find yourself trying to figure out a pattern, and the reason behind the scribble pattern.

Abraham is very focused when he does anything, just like August was, and will, just like August did, drool uncontrollably while working.

Although we're not really interacting with him - everybody busy with their own work - he really enjoys sitting at the table with everyone, doing his thing. Until the pencils or markers or papers don't do what he wants them to do, that is, and he throws another frustration tantrum.

Hello! We are considering moving to Egypt with our 11 month old (about a month younger than yours!). I lived in Zamalek in the mid 90's as as student but now as a mommy and professional we are considering Maadi. Can you post some musings about life there - what is easy, what is not, how do you deal with the pollution, and do you ever feel too divorced from Egyptian culture? Thanks so much in advance!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
