Abraham loves chili!

For fear of being reported to some kind of abuse center, I haven't posted this before. Now that Karl-Abraham is a bit bigger though (and has developed like he should) I think I can safely share the information: our baby's favorite food of all times is, and has been since he started trying solids at the age of six months, spicy chili con carne.

The older boys always liked chili as well. In fact, the only person in our family that ever had a problem with spicy food was I, and I think I'm pretty much over it by now.

This picture was taken on New Year's Day. Having chili on this day every year is a tradition we picked up in Leuven, where for many years we shared our lives with a (Texas-Vancouver originated) family who now lives in Edmonton.

Notice Abraham's "Presidents of the United States" place mat?

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
