A quick note during a brief moment of slow internet access
So I guess cables in the Mediterranean Sea were severed again, and our internet has been down. It is temporarily running although it is very, very slow. I’m sitting propped up on the couch, feet up, blowing my nose, feeling sick. I can’t seem to shake this cold – flu – whatever it is. The last couple of busy days’ running around has certainly not helped. We’ve attended a homeschooling Christmas party, I’ve gone to Carrefour (if you know me, this is one of the most energy-draining activities I could be bothered with), cooked a very nice dinner with the Professor, hosted a dinner party, tried to stay on top of the house and laundry, babysat kids, and gone to a wedding/engagement party in Garden City. Oh, and did I mention I’m growing a baby? I have a long list of things to do waiting right on my desk, and I haven’t seen the boys for more than a minute since their sleep-over last night, so now would be a good time to get some of the things on that list done, but I have no energy. The list contains such errands as getting passport photos taken so that I can mail my driver’s license renewal before Christmas, all the Christmas shopping, visiting the maternity hospital where I will spend 3-4 days in pain in 5-6 weeks, and taking William to the pediatrician. Just looking at the list makes me tired, but in the next week, all of these things will have to be taken care of. And what SHOULD I get for the Professor for Christmas anyways?!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

I think you and the professor should find someone to take the boys for a night or two and have a romantic night/weekend in a nice hotel. Fancy food, room service, and relaxation. That's always a good gift!
