We left Indiana on Tuesday night, spent six amazing days with our friends in Massachusetts, flew back to Cairo on Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday. The flight was long and tiresome but went under the circumstances very well; the kids were absolute angels - probably courtesy of the all-you-can-watch personal entertainment center on the excellent Lufthansa flight, which allowed them to watch Kung Fu Panda over and over again for eight entire hours. They slept on our next flight from Frankfurt to Cairo, and after we had collected all our bags, seemingly intact, we managed to get through traffic and home to Maadi. It was a long trip – the boys and I have been gone for two whole months! – but we had good fun, and we’ll certainly miss our family and friends; still, it’s good to be home!
We’ve spent today trying to get over our whacky sleeping schedule, unpacking and shopping, and the boys have played with their friends. I still feel like a zombie; I’m glad we have a few days to get ready for school, sports and everything else, but I’m quite excited to commence this our second year in Cairo, Egypt. And what an exciting year it will be!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
