A mountain view of Cairo
Cairo is situated in a valley, and on a clear breezy day (which apparently only happens about once a month), the smog will be thin enough that you can see all the way to the pyramids from the top of the mountain. We were lucky, indeed.
Our house in Maadi is to be found to the left in this picture, or just to the left of the picture. The green area with a lake in the middle of the picture is constructed on a huge mountain of garbage. The Nile is somewhat delineated by tall buildings between the lake/green area and the pyramids. Downtown Cairo is to the right of the picture. Behind the pyramids is the desert, although the city is quickly expanding, and moving towards enclosing the pyramids.
Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
