On Friday mornings the streets of Maadi are relatively empty, and I can take the boys to Victory College to bike, without fearing for their lives. They can’t bike around the parking lot because it’s a softball day, and softball players arrive in their SUVs and park, but there is a small lot between the parking lot and the grounds where the boys have room enough to bike around.
Suddenly an older woman, half long hair, normal built (I would put her name here if I knew it) arrives in a fancy black car, and parks in the middle of the lot where the boys are biking. The actual parking lot is practically empty, and only a few yards away. I see William stops his bike and starts talking to her. I see her make some irritated gestures. I go up to see what she is saying, and ask her, very nicely, if perhaps she could park a few yards further back or to the side so that the boys can keep biking. “There’s a sign there [she points to the sign] that says this lot is reserved for *Board Members*, and I AM a *Board Member*, so I HAVE the right to park here,” the woman answers snobbishly and puts her nose up. “I understand that,” I say, still pleadingly, “but this is the only place in Maadi where the boys can bike, and so perhaps you could move your car just a little bit so that they can keep biking?”to which she just pushed her way past me, repeating “This lot is for Board Members to park!”
I wanted to call her bad words, argue, tell her all kinds of things, but instead I said, “Boys, get your bikes, we’re leaving!” put Abraham in the stroller, and walked home.
Why do some people feel the need to be so rude and selfish? She knew she had just ruined the boys’ bike ride. What a bad person! Shame on you, whoever you are!

that's normal! such people see happy mum with boys having great time, so they are rude and do not ever let you be happy and have a great time. shame shame shame! shame on them! by the way, I've got the same problem here ;(
If you were not a mom who's supposed to be a role model for her children, you should have flipped her the finger. I wouldn't even feel sorry for her if her beautiful board member car was *accidentally* scratched.
Nothing grinds my gears more than a human being snobby to a fellow human.
I really wish if there was somewhere safe in Maadi to ride a bike
