Lamb night at the Maadi House

Last night was “Lamb night” at the Maadi House, and since Courtney is a big lamb lover, we went. The boys had taekwondo until 7 pm, and Courtney teaches late on Thursdays, so we had dinner late, which was all right, since the Maadi House was less busy then.

The menu was set, and included German Black Lentil Soup, a really yummy Wedge Salad (iceberg lettuce topped with green apples, bacon, tomatoes, and crushed pecans with blue cheese dressing), Balsamic Lamb Loin (tender grilled lamb loin with sweet & sour balsamic gravy) or Capsicum Lamb Chops (grilled lamb chops with red pepper sauce), served with roasted potatoes & butter-garlic green beans. For dessert we were served a brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. I think it was supposed to be something else, but maybe they had run out by the time we were ready for dessert. The food was nice; we shared our meal and a bottle of wine with friends we had not seen for a while, and the kids – as always – had a blast hanging out with friends.

What I like about eating out at the Maadi House is the fact that we can sit and eat right next to the playground. Abraham and the boys can play freely, and it’s a great playground. There’s no rush, and everyone’s happy. I love our leisurely family dinners at home, the whole family around the table, and going to fancy restaurants can be nice too, but there’s something especially nice about being able to sit and enjoy your meal, drink and adult company, while watching your kids exhaust themselves joyfully.

We should definitely market this concept!!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
