A friend posted this question on her blog a while back, and since I’m always interested in learning more about people, I enjoy these kind of games. There’s only one question (making this game less time consuming = good), which is:
“If you had to select 2 or 3 objects which would help to tell the story of your life, what would they be?”
My friend selected her passport, spice kit, and laptop, and then she added her Kindle as well. She is a traveler, an experimental cook, and an academic indeed; the objects she chose represent her character very well.
My laptop would be a given for me as well. It would represent the writer in me, absolutely, but in my laptop are also most of my family photos, representing the mother & wife that I am, as well as addresses, notes, letters, Skype, and other correspondence with my friends and family in all corners of the world. In a way, my laptop could tell the story of my life all by itself. Seems like cheating, doesn’t it?
Apart from my laptop then, what objects would help tell the story of my life? My (scratched up and worn) wedding ring and (very used) nursing pillow would help me tell the story of the past 13 years of my life. I have also studied, worked, and traveled, but without my husband and children, the story of well over a third of my life my life would not be. What came before that, can best be represented by my Swedish passport, which would tell you that I spent a large portion of my childhood traveling with my family, trekking all around Europe especially, for months on end sometimes, but that we always returned to the same place.
So there you have it: a stable and stimulating childhood, a long, happy marriage, and three beautiful children. The three objects; a ring, a pillow, and my passport, telling the story of my, now that I put it this way, seemingly boring life.
Now - Tag! - it’s your turn. Tell me about your three objects.

Truthfully the mundane and "seemingly boring" things are the most exciting and important. :)
Only three objects! Hmmm...I'll have to think on that one.
