Egyptian pig genocide
I'm not going to rant. It's just terrible, really. (And we don't even really eat pork here in Egypt.) I can nothing but agree with my friends who so wittingly have it pinned down here and here (and here and here).
Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Isn't it amazing how people are capable of making drastic decisions based on erroneous information? I understand mistakes being made early in a crisis to err on the side of caution, but this has gone on FAR long enough that there's more accurate info available. I feel for the animals that will suffer for this, and the people who will lose their livelihoods. Thanks for posting this, Jennifer. I continue to thoroughly enjoy all your posts. I hope to one day be able to blog our expat experiences.
I keep saying it, but i really am worried about how this will affect the Zaboleen...
