Busy and sick times in Cairo, Egypt
Well color me surprised! Just when things are getting really, really busy, our entire family comes down with a bad cold. Karl-Abraham started the whole thing last week with a two-day snotty nose and a cough. Nothing too dramatic, but enough to set off the rest of the family sneezing. August went out first, and then I, with sore throats, a slight fever, coughs and a general feeling of bad. Next William got sick on his birthday, and although he managed to enjoy a bit of beach time in Ras Sudr, he has slept most of the time over the past three days. He hasn’t had a meal since Thursday, which of course worries me, although I know that it is at times like these that the extra chubb he carries around comes in handy. Both boys were supposed to take their Taekwondo belt test today – only August made it. With a sore throat I have to sing at our Spring concert tomorrow and Tuesday, we’re supposed to go to the embassy this week to proceed with Karl-Abraham’s passport application. Friday is the Homeschooling Science Fair. There’s a baseball game on Saturday morning, a birthday party in the afternoon, and sometime this week my husband has a deadline to meet. Aargh!

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
