Oh no, not the Yankees! The beginning of Maadi Little League Baseball season, 2009

The boys’ baseball season finally starts next week, and to Courtney’s and the boys’ great chagrin, the team they will be playing for is the Yankees. Not because I am particularly concerned with team loyalty, but because I am the one doing laundry in our family, I too would have preferred a different team, i.e. one that wears less white uniforms, like the Red Sox. Also, as extra clothing is always welcome in our household, I would have preferred baseball hats and t-shirts that Courtney & the boys will actually wear outside of the field after the season is over, however with Yankees gear, this, I’m afraid, will never be the case.

Hi. We have US, but are considering a move to Cairo so that my husband can take language classes at AUC this fall. We have a two and three year old...Therefore, I have many questions and concerns about the move (where in Cairo to live, medical care, pregnancy in cairo???, pollution, etc.). Is there any possibility you would be willing to give our family some advice and answer some questions for us? My email address is aparnell@uark.edu or ashandri@hotmail.com. Thanks so much, Ashley Parnell

Hi Jennifer--Looks like you are in demand as a source of advice about moving to Cairo with little ones. I am sure you are busy with your little guys, but I would love to shoot you a few questions by email if I could. My husband is also considering a post at AUC, so our situation would be very similar to yours! If you can, my email is katie.blackburn@gmail.com
Thanks in advance-Katie

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
