Two weeks post partum; on our way to recovery
It has been two weeks since the birth of Karl-Abraham, and we’re slowly getting back to normal. While our baby’s doing great, I’ve had a couple of scares health-wise; first the post dural puncture headache, and then a temporary paralysis of my right side. After a couple of visits to the hospital though, and an encounter with a really good cardiologist, I’m not worried anymore, and can concentrate on not only nurturing my baby and working with the boys, but also recover and regain my shape, over the next few months. My abdomen still hurts, as do certain other parts of my body and I’ve had to adjust my pace to accommodate recovery. I’m adjusting to the new sleep pattern and the constant lack of sleep, and the fact that I have to spend a large portion of the day just caring for the baby. And everybody else in the family is having to adjust to all of this! But we’re doing fine; we've had a lot of help from our friends and neighbors, and we're on our way to recovery.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
