My gourmet nurser

Today, nine days after the procedure, I’m starting to feel a little like a person again. Our sleeping and eating is still all messed up, I neither look pregnant any more, nor do I fit into any of my regular clothes, but I’m recovering from the c-section, and Karl-Abraham is doing great. During his check-up today he weighed in at 3900 grams, having already regained the weight he lost after the delivery and added some more. He’s a really good eater, and nothing like the boys, who were both extremely gluttonous when it came to breastfeeding. August & William both would be quite rough, greedy and would never latch off, marathon nursing around the clock and throwing big fits if I tried to do something else. Karl-Abraham starts every feeding, no matter how hungry he is, with a little lick and a taste, as if he were about to drink a very fine wine, smacks his lips, and then carefully starts drinking. When he’s done, he nicely and quietly latches off and smacks his lips again, as if savoring every last bit of the milk. I swear to God; if he could, he would wipe the corners of his mouth with the nursing cloth. He’s very gentle, and often, all this while the boys are showering him with kisses.

a real gentleman in eating :O)

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
