The house is still a mess, but luckily our cleaning lady comes today to help me at least with the major scrubbing. She only comes once a week; I know a lot of people here have someone come every day or every other day, but because we are home a lot, and because getting the boys to concentrate is hard enough without anyone vacuuming under the table, I prefer to just have her do the big stuff, like floors, windows and balconies once a week while we're at the pool.
I ended up just doing the bare minimum yesterday. It’s amazing how your body starts running your life when you’re pregnant. It will tell you that whatever you did the day before was exhausting and that you need to stay with your feet up for a while to recover. I feel thirsty a lot more, and indeed should be drinking more water. I also feel hungry a lot more, and there are certain things I don’t feel like having, such as alcoholic beverages (which I usually enjoy when not pregnant). Perhaps I listen more carefully to my body when I’m pregnant because I know I should, but I also imagine that the signals are more direct and adamant. It’s quite reassuring, actually.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
