August's 7th birthday party

Yesterday we threw a party for August, who's turning seven on Sunday. He wanted to have a dress-up theme (he went as a spy and William as a superhero-philosophy professor, but in this picture the outfits have already been dissembled), and he wanted to invite all his friends, but he also wanted to have the party at home, so we had to limit the invitees. The house was still full though, and although we didn't end up playing any of the games we had prepared, except for one ("pin the light saber on Darth Vader"), I think the kids had a good time. They played, opened presents, had snacks, drinks and cake, and the parents chatted.

I had, per August's request, made a plain vanilla cake. It was white with a large candy corn seven and seven candles on it. In addition, "for William," August had asked that I make a chocolate cake, so I made Michelle's chocolate cake which was, as always, amazing. Another successful birthday party!

Superhero philosophy professor sounds like a great costume! I may have to borrow that for upcoming halloween parties if William doesn't mind. :)

Hope you're enjoying your "you" time!! :))

happy birthday August :)

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
