Our weeks are busy these days, but not at all stressful. This is good, since I don't have an infinite amount of energy any more, growing a little person and all. We’ve been taking it easy in the early mornings – I’ll do a bit of work while the boys play or color. After a while we go through our school work for the day; Grammar, Spelling, Writing, Reading, Literature, Math, History (actually History, Geography and Religion) or Science. Some days the work takes less than four hours, some days we end up spending the whole day. Sometimes we fall behind on something, only to catch up and find ourselves ahead of schedule the next week. When we’re done with our work, or the boys are too tired to concentrate anymore – whichever comes first – we usually have lunch and then either hang out or go to the Maadi House. In the early evening I take the boys to their activities, and then we have dinner and chill a bit before bedtime.
Today after a few hours of school work and a heavy lunch, the boys asked to watch television, and since I was really quite tired, I decided it was a good idea for me to lie on the couch with them for a while. “So are you guys all done with school for today?” I asked them, and they confirmed that they were quite fed up with writing, which was the only thing we hadn’t finished (it’s hard work for them – their fine motor skills required for neat handwriting, or even legible, still need a bit of time to develop, making writing a very arduous task). I put Iron man on, and relaxed. After the movie they leapt out of the couch, obviously inspired, and immediate set to work on writing long, detailed letters to Santa Claus, asking for Iran man dolls, among other things. That was half an hour ago (usually I can only get 10 minutes of writing out of them), and they’re still going at it. I suppose; ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’?

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
