Have you written anything lately?

No, you didn’t miss anything; I have barely written anything lately. My absence in the blogosphere is certainly not due to any lack of time – things have been very calm here in Maadi these past couple of weeks, and I’ve had plenty of time to read and write. I have been reading a lot, and I’ve written three different articles for Oasis Magazine’s September issue, but when it comes to writing blog posts – to be honest I’ve had a lot of things on my mind, but very little writing inspiration.

It has never happened to me before; I’ve never had trouble coming up with things to share or discuss, but these past couple of weeks have been… calm – transitional.

On Friday things will certainly change: we’re going to the Independence Day celebration arranged by the US Embassy here in Cairo, and later that night we’ll commence our 60-day summer of '08 trip. For now, however, I’m lazy and if not uninspired then uncreative or at least dormant.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
