August finally got his Egypt/pool-friendly brush cut
I thought I would regret it and cry but I haven’t – yet. Tonight I cut August’s
hair off, giving him a pool-friendly brush cut (as opposed to the complicated long-hair-that-needs-to-be-washed-and-conditioned-after-each-pool-visit hair he was enjoying earlier today). The new cut makes him look smaller, younger – he looks like when he was a baby without hair – and it makes his big eyes shine even more. He almost freaked out when I showed it to him in the mirror, asking with a terrified look on his face “It will grow out soon again, right?” but I assumed he wouldn’t like it – at first. I’m certain once he discovers how much it eases his life this time of the year, he will appreciate it. But I suppose it’s an adjustment we all will have to get through.
Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Thanks; that means a lot. And you're probably right; although our haircuts usually come with a lollipop AND Lazytown, so we might just have found ourselves a regular...
