The most amazing incredible thing happened last night: it started thundering, lightning, and… raining! Courtney came home from work soaked; the very first drops of rain had hit him on his way in, and he was not only wet but also very dirty. The rain was rinsing the dust off the trees, showering the people with dirt. All night we could see the lightning flash while the thunder kept us half awake.
Today everything has a new color. The sand colored window shades on the building across from ours are now half sand colored and half brick red (I had no idea!). The trees, grass and bushes are intensely green, the flowers are beautiful and the streets look more delineated. Everything is clearer; uncovered.
I suppose all the men that spend most of their days watering greenery here in Maadi got their morning off.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
