I love the fact that when I open up my Google homepage every morning, the weather forecast in the center of my screen shows a huge sun under all three days involved in the forecast, accompanied by a 33º/22ºC display. Since the day we arrived in Egypt, it has been sunny and warm.
What adds to the thrill of the forecast is the mentioning of the current temperature displayed together with a “Feels Like” temperature. The difference is often very insignificant; a couple of weeks ago it would say 39ºC, Feels Like 40. Only 39ºC I can take, but knowing it feels like 40, now there’s a heat to be careful in!
The other night I dreamed that it was pouring rain outside when I woke up in the morning. In my dream I got that “oh, nooo…” feeling I used to get in Belgium when I’d wake up to the sound of heavy rain, because I knew I would have to put my useless rain suit on, bike the kids to school and then get to work, all the while getting soaked, and then have to walk around damp and cold all day with terrible hair, go get the kids and go home in the rain again in the afternoon. It‘s a very unpleasant feeling; one that I’ve only ever got in the wet, cold and gray Belgium.
As soon as I woke up from my dream, I got up and opened up the bedroom balcony doors; the 28º C warmth hit me along with the bright morning sun; it was another beautiful sunny day in Egypt.

Lovely Lady of La Leche, most loving mother of the Child Jesus, and my mother, listen to my humble prayer. Your motherly heart knows my every wish, my every need. To you only, His spotless Virgin Mother, has your Divine Son given to understand the sentiments which fill my soul. Yours was the sacred privilege of being the Mother of the Savior. Intercede with him now, my loving Mother, that, in accordance with His will, I may become the mother of other children of our heavenly Father. This I ask, O Lady of La Leche, in the Name of your Divine Son, My Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
